Murphy called in for Twickenham showdown

Veteran Leicester full-back Geordan Murphy has been added to Ireland's Six Nations squad to face England at Twickenham at the weekend.
With Lions No.15 Rob Kearney missing the Twickenham showdown with a knee injury – Ireland boss Declan Kidney has opted for Murphy.

The Leicester back has only played three times for the Tigers this season since dislocating his shoulder but he was in imperious form against Gloucester at Welford Road at the weekend.

Murphy could be given the full-back role for the remainder of the championship; with Kearney likely to be out for three to five weeks.

The full-back is also in danger of missing Ireland's home games against Wales and Scotland on 13 and 20 March.
